Inspired by the owl.in the woods behind my house.
Mollie has a pumpkin collar....
I have been out and about. Autumn is here, the shops were selling pumpkins this week.
Orange and gold on the trees, carpeting the pathways, and even in my garden are making me happy.
Above is the shelter our allotment group made. it's so cosy. 20 of us had a halloween gathering last night with baked potatoes and meat or veggie chilli, it was a good night.
I will leave you with another owl. This one lives at the Surrey Wildlife Centre, just down the road from us. We had a lovely day out and brought a picnic. All the animals were originally taken there due to injuries, some are released, others stay for this reason. My favourites were the owls but there were also foxes, otters, wild cats, small rodents, ravens and hedgehogs. They release six hedgehog babies back into local areas every year.
Hope you are enjoying halloween.

Your owl jack-o-lantern is AWESOME!
ReplyDeleteLovely Halloween photos! Halloween is not a Dutch thing but it is celebrated here more and more.
ReplyDeleteThat's a very impressive bit of pumpkin carving! Proper creepy!
ReplyDeleteMollie looks so cute in her seasonally appropriate collar.
enjoyed your magical walk in the woods, the colours are so lovely at this time of yea. Your gathering looked like great fun.
How cute is that owl? xxx
Oh I love that Owl in your last pic Betty - he looks like he has attitude!! Your allotment looks wonderful all decorated for Halloween. We don't tend to celebrate it here (in our house that is) - not for any particular reason - we are so far out that we don't get trick or treaters calling so I don't bother for just The Mr & the cats & I. (I would eat all the sweets myself!!) 😉 I love seeing it though. Have a lovely week Betty xx
ReplyDeleteHalloween's become a bit of a nonsense here with large barn size shops filled with plastic tat!Did you see the owls on Hamza's prog last night? Hope you didn't watch that new knitting prog with Tom Daly?it was embarrassingly abysmal!!Love life in your allotment. Wish I lived closer.x
ReplyDeleteHow gorgeous! I love trees, foxes, owls, and other animals, too.
ReplyDeleteI like the owl in the last photo. I don't think it's a kind we have in Canada though. The magic tree looks very interesting with the trunk split (?).
